UNEXPECTED OPPORTUNITY

Today I find myself working on a new project.  This evening, a friend and I will be on a conference call with the owners of a company we've been selling products for via affiliate marketing.  Long story short - it was a "right place, right time" situation that has us on this call this afternoon.

I've always found myself trying to create a way to "work for myself".  I've sold products and services through MLM companies, I've started two at home hobby businesses and one brick and mortar hobby business.  Nothing large scale.

When the product I'd been selling, via affiliate sales, was no longer available to me to sell in that format I immediately started brainstorming.  I was determined to sell this product at a
profit, come what may!  I didn't have to wait long.....

I had emailed the company in regard to the affiliate program and inquired as to alternatives.  They got back to me right away and informed me that the owners were working on something new.  The customer service rep let me know that she'd forwarded my contact information to the owners and that I should be hearing from them this month.

After a couple of days, waiting on pins and needles, my friend (and business partner) called me with unbelievable news.  Unable to wait any longer, she picked up the phone to call the company - choosing option number 3 and speaking with the marketing department (who turned out to be the vice president!).  Which leads us to the conference call we have today with them.

I'm very interested in hearing their ideas for a new marketing program and it seems they are very interested in what we might be able to do.  The question was asked to my friend "Have you ever opened a new company before?"  HA!  Well, she said no and explained what we have done and they are still interested.

After relaying this info to my husband, he reminded me that I, myself, have actually opened several new stores - they weren't mine but I was a big part of opening and running those stores.  He also mentioned the fact that I and another friend had also co-owned our own home based, silk floral wedding business.  So I started thinking, and remembering many things.  I have quite a bit of experience!  I also have a program in mind that I think would be perfect for this company.

I'm excited to talk with these people today.  Maybe what they're looking for is something other than what I have envisioned but maybe not.  We'll soon find out.....
